Debbie Macomber Book Signing

OMG! OMG! OMG!
Today my mother and I went to a Debbie Macomber book signing! She is one of my favorite authors!! I've been excited since I learned that Debbie was going to be in town!

My autographed book!!
Hannah's List is part of her Blossom Street series. I love her Blossom Street and Promise Texas Series!

Mom and Debbie

Me and Debbie!!!
Debbie said, "Ashlyne. That's a very pretty name. I've never heard that before. I might use that some day." My mother and I both said, "Okay!"
WOW!
When I get really excited, nervous, angry or whatever I tend to get red, blotchy hives on my face or neck. Unfortunately my neck was red and blotchy when this picture was taken.
Thank the Lord for photoshop...you can't see it as much now.

Ruby the Kitten

I stole this pic from my friend Libby's facebook page. It's her new kitten named Ruby! It's a boy so I'm not sure why she named him Ruby. Isn't this picture adorable! It's too cute for words!

Mother's Day

Although I am a step-mom and not a mom Mylan and Larry have always included me in their Mother's Day celebrations! I think it's very sweet! Step-parents, male and female, often go unappreciated for all the things they do. I feel special to be included in their Mother's Day celebrations! Since Sunday was going to be spent with our own mothers, on Saturday, Larry made me my favorite dinner...steak, garlic bread, baked potato and sauteed mushroom and onions! Larry makes a mean steak! Sunday morning we took Sue to breakfast and then later that evening me, Nathaniel and Shonda took my mother to dinner. Mylan gave me the black Under Armour ball cap I wanted and a very sweet card.

Tea Party and Fashion Show

On Saturday I went to a tea and fashion show with my mother-in-law, Sue. She also invited her mother for mother's day. The tea and fashion show was put on by Sue's IAAP group from work. Larry and I like to tease her and call the group her "AARP" group!! I only got pictures of the tea party though because Sue and I were in the fashion show together. We modeled outfits that were borrowed from the Dress Barn. We learned all about the different types of tea. Did you know that red tea and green tea are the best teas to drink if you are drinking it for the health benefits? It's true. Also, red tea isn't actually a tea because it has none of the tea plant in it. It actually comes from a bush called a "red bush". That's all I can remember about that though. We also learned the proper tea party etiquette and where the whole tea party thing came from. The tea was a lot of fun and so was the fashion show until I walked in front of everyone and all eyes were on MY outfit! I HATE being the center of attention and all eye are on me!! Yikes!
Here are my pics in random order...

This was our table...each table was set up different.

This was my favorite table...I love blue glass.

These two little girls were so cute in their little outfits.
The one on the left won for best outfit for kids!

Pieces of Mylan

Mylan is such a cool kid! Gotta love him!
I was in his room the other day vacuuming and I was looking around at his room.

This is his picture he made of himself swimming.
He made it several years ago.

Anyone who knows Mylan knows he is really into sports just like his dad. This is some of his trophies and other sports memorabilia. That wooden box is one of his many "treasure boxes". When he was really into pirates he has this thing for "treasure boxes".

Tony Romo

I was not happy when I found this a few months ago. You see, I have a bag of toys that I keep hidden away of some of his toys that he played with when he was little. This car was in it. However, some how Mylan got a hold of it and tore the stickers off and drew on it. Oh well, what do I do. I should've had them hidden in my closet instead of his huh.

In our backroom Mylan like to make his own miniature ball field.
Here is a sign he made from a box.

More ball field decor...

This is the outfield...

Mylan's picture he drew of Larry years ago

Mylan climbs on Larry like he is a jungle gym!!

Mylan has always been a pretty clean and organized kid. When he was 2 he wouldn't stick his hands in his little cake like most kids would do. Instead he wanted a bib and a fork! LOL! He was only 2!!!
In his room he labeled his dresser drawers.
I found this one funny! Instead of it reading mesh shorts he wrote mess shorts! Cute!

This is my favorite present from Mylan.
He gave it to me for Valentines Day years ago.

His hand print

Mylan's giant photo of him with one of the Harlem Globe Trotters.
He's proud of that.

Mylan's dresser.
That wooden box is one of his "treasure boxes" as well and the tin lunch pail.
Inside are usually baseball cards.

He has baseball card EVERYWHERE

This drives me bonkers. It doesn't matter how many times I tell him, I still find his dirty laundry everywhere...in his closet floor, behind his toy box, under the bed....boys!

One of his many sports posters

One day Larry found this box of balls in Mylan's closet. If you look closer, several of them are autographed...

By Mylan himself! Silly boy!

Black Cat Fireworks

Every year Mylan's baseball team works a Black Cats fireworks stand to raise money for the ball team. Parents can work as many hours as they choose to earn back some of the money they've spent during the baseball season. It's very hard, dirty and tiring work so please be patient and kind to those who are working the next time you purchase fireworks from a stand like ours. Saturday we attended a fireworks display put on by Black Cat in order to see some of the items we will be selling. I've never taken pictures of fireworks before but here are the ones I liked best. They didn't turned out the way I would've liked but they're still pretty.

I won a door prize...a LARGE size Black Cat Fireworks shirt. They were also giving away cases of energy drinks which I don't understand but no one asked me anyway. The team was teasing me and saying that I am expected to wear it while working at the stand! Sorry you guys but you'll be disappointed!
