Christmas Eve Night: Preparing for Santa's Arrival

The night before Christmas always means that there is lots of work to be done in order to prepare for Santa and his Reindeer...

First: Mylan makes the cookies for Santa to eat. Mylan says that Santa LOVES chocolate chip cookies and milk.

Second: Mylan made a place mat for Santa's treats.

Third: Since Santa comes in through out chimney, Mylan places the treats on the fireplace.

Fourth: Oh and don't forget the reindeer! Always have reindeer food on hand. Mylan uses oats and glitter. The glitter reflects the moonlight so that the reindeer can find the food that we have scattered in the front lawn.

P.S. If you tend to burn cookies like I do then you can always use them for reindeer snacks. We simply placed the burnt cookies in a zip lock bag and wrote a note on the bag for Santa to read:
"Dear Santa,
I am sorry I burnt your cookies. Please take these for the reindeer to snack on.
Love,
Ash and Mylan"

Christmas Eve 2008

Poor Larry was sick on Christmas Eve, so while he rested on the couch with a 100.3 fever, Mylan and I went to Grandma Sue's house.

Mylan had been working hard in his Grandpa Woody's wood shop on a special Christmas gift for Larry.

With Grandpa Woody's guidance Mylan's gift turned out to be a great success!

Oh and they had a little fun with the shop vac!

You'll never guess what I found!

I found my cable so that I can post pics from my camera! I've been cleaning out the office looking for it and do you know where I found it?! I found it wrapped around Mylan's Shrek doll in his play room! Funny huh? That boy will tape and tie things together all day long if we let him! Boys will be boys!

Okay, now I'd better get to work on some posts.

Our little man

Well our little man is growing up. Today he got deodorant. Axe deodorizing body spray called "Touch". It smells nice. Mylan has been having a few stinky arm pit issues and Larry and I decided it was time to introduce him to deodorant. Larry told him he's got some "man stink" under those pits and taught him how to take care of that problem. He is so cute...he's a little embarrassed about the new deodorant thing. We thought that the spray kind would be best since the gel kind is alcohol based and may be too harsh on his skin at this age. Shh, don't mention it to Mylan though because he's s little shy about it. So cute!

Happy New Year Everyone! It's 2009!

P.S. I still can't find my camera cable so that I can post pics. I have no idea where it could have run off to. I think I'm going to have to buy a new one. So be patient.

Okay, due to our unorganized office, which is where all of my blogging takes place, I can't find the cord to my camera so that I can upload all of my Christmas pics. So as soon as I find it I will post them.

Update

Well it's been pretty hectic around here.
I have been working extra hours at my part time job at Bath and Body Works. With the holiday season being here we are swamped with customers. The dental office has been pretty busy too. Patients tend to want to rush in at the last minute with toothaches or broken teeth. They also tend to track in more of that salt stuff to melt the ice outside so that keeps me vacuuming all day. My boss seems to think it's funny how often I vacuum. Last week he said, "It's been 5 mins are you sure you don't need to vacuum again?"
My Grandpa Baker got a new pace maker on December 16th. On December 19th my little sister, Shonda, graduated from her nursing program with her LPN. Earlier in the week my Uncle Carol passed away. This weekend my Grandparents, mom, Pat, Shonda and Nathaniel are all in Texas for the funeral. I also found out that my Uncle Charles has been diagnosed with some sort of bad lung problem.
Well Christmas is almost here. This week has some busy plans ahead.
