Here are some pictures that our friend Brian took at Mylan's football game on Saturday. Brian sent them to me in the order that he took them but I managed to get them all mixed up when posting them on my blog. In some of the pics Mylan in the one standing or kneeling between #8 and #18. In the others he is the one blocking #8.

Mylan's Halloween Sleepover
Mylan had a Halloween sleepover this year instead of a Halloween party. We ended up with three 9 yr old boys (four total including Mylan) filling our house with chaos! Phew! First we went to a corn maze where Larry and I hoped the boys would burn off some energy. The maze takes a few hours. After the maze Larry took the boys back to the house and I picked up some pizza for dinner. I have never see food disappear so fast! I told Larry, "Can you imagine having this many boys as our own children!" Oh my! After dinner the boys wrestled in the living room. I had to the leave the room because it was too painful to watch. Later in the evening the boys settled down to a movie, Earnest Goes to Camp, and eventually fell asleep. The next morning we made cinnamon rolls for breakfast which the boys devoured in record time. After breakfast they wrestled again and stunk up the living room as boys do. After the parents finally picked up the boys Mylan helped me put the house back together while Larry made lunch and changed the oil filter on his Blazer. Wow...I'm pooped after having all those boys running around our house.

Weekend Contintued...
So today Mylan seems to be showing some signs of getting better. So far today his temp has been normal. He slept through the night too. Yesterday AM is when I started to show some signs of getting ill and today his Mom, Becky, is showing some signs of getting ill.
Uh-oh!
I just hope Larry doesn't get it.
Germs, germs, go away...

Weekend
Friday AM Mylan woke up complaining of a "bad headache". Mylan never complains of much so when he does I know it's worthy of some attention. So I gave him some headache medicine, took his temp (it was 99), he showered, and he ate an apple, a granola bar and a glass of water for breakfast. After Becky and I talked on the phone, we decided he was okay to go to school since his only complaint was a headache and the medicine would kick in soon. So I sent him to school. He wasn't even there for 30 mins before I was called to pick him up due to a 102 fever! Poor baby! So I took him home and put him back in his pj's and he chilled out on the couch all day watching tv, playing Xbox and sleeping. He got worse through out the day. I took his temp every 30 mins to an hour. When his fever got to 100 I went to get some fever med from Walgreen's. It just kept going back and forth ranging from 99 to 102.8. It's really quite scary to see your kid feeling so bad with such a high fever. I don't recall Mylan ever having a fever that high before. Finally around 3pm he was feeling better and his temp had stayed down at 99 for a good part of the day. Becky came to pick him up around 5:30pm and he was still feeling a lot better. Then he gradually got worse again. Now the highest his fever has been is 103. He's also started throwing up once in a while and dirahea. He gets hot and then cold. Sometimes he is shivering and freezing but to the touch he is burning up. Poor sweet Mylan. I wish I could snap my fingers and make it all better. Yesterday AM, Larry and I stopped by Becky's house to see Mylan. He was happy to see us. He'll be better soon with rest, meds, fluids and cold rags. All of his friends have been sick with the crud going around so it was only a matter of time before he caught it I guess. Luckily he has lots of family who care and love him. Just knowing that someone cares often helps a person to feel better. So Thank You to Darla, Dad, Shonda and Sue who have been checking on Mylan and worrying right along side Larry, Becky and I.
Get Well Soon Mylan! We love you!

My Magazine Idea
I know some of you are going to make fun of me for this...but I don't care. I read this idea in a magazine once. It's a way to organize your jewelery. I don't know about anyone else but I find my jewelery box a pain in the neck. My necklaces get tangled even though they are hanging up because every time I open the little door they move around and twist together. I have to dig through a pile of earrings because they are all thrown together in the little drawer.
So the idea in the magazine was using an egg carton to organize and separate all of your jewelery pieces. So I placed it in my night stand drawer. I like it and it works great. Now if I can only figure out how to stop certain pieces from tarnishing and how to clean that off.

Attic Fun
Those of you who know me know that I can be a bit of a goof-ball sometimes. So these pictures shouldn't be too surprising then. Larry and I have this running joke in our house that "Steve" lives in our attic. This all came about because I've watched too many movies where the bad guy is in the attic hiding or stalking someone. So every time I hear a strange noise I tell Larry that I think there is someone in our attic. I am easily spooked. I've already climbed into the attic in the past but I was too scared to climb all the way through it. Tonight Shonda went with me. It's always more fun to do anything with a sister!
Now the trick to having a successful climb into the attic is to be well prepared. See picture below.
You must layer your clothes to keep bugs from touching you. You must tuck your pants into your socks so that bugs don't touch your legs. You must wear a stocking cap to keep bugs from touching your hair and then a hoodie tied tightly to keep bugs from touching your neck. You must wear gloves to keep bugs from touching your hands and also a head lamp or a flash light to see in the dark. Yeah, I don't do bugs very well.
