Mylan rocks out!!

I found Mylan jammin' in his bedroom!

STUCO

Mylan is going to be in the Student Counsel at his school. He wants to be the Treasurer. So he has to make some posters and stickers for his campaign. He is going to work on his posters at his mom's house and to day he and I worked on his campaign stickers to pass out to kids at school.

Mylan is showing off some of the stickers he is making for his STUCO campaign.

We've made stickers for the girls...

And for the boys...

Mylan is very determined to win STUCO Treasurer!

Bedtime or Playtime?

Okay boys, which is it? Playtime or bedtime?

Oh yeah, cute...very cute!

Are you done playing yet? Because it's bedtime.

Umm boys...I do believe I mentioned bedtime not playtime!

Ah, finally it's bedtime.

Typical boys bedtime routine. Play then sleep.
Boys will be boys!

End of Season Party

Our boys had a good baseball season. The boys swam, all the parents talked and we all ate way to much delicious food! I think we had a great team this year. We plan to continue with this team for a long time. All of the coaches are great, the parents are great and the boys are great! Today we had the end of season party and Coach Bobby handed out the boys trophies. Coaches from left to right: Tim, Bobby (head coach), Pops, and Shane.

Pops hands Mylan his trophy.
Coach has a few last words to say.

P.A.N.C.A.K.E spells Love

Wanna know how much I love my boys? I love my boys so much that I got up at 4:30am to make my boys breakfast! Yes, you heard me right, I was up at 4:30am! Those of you who me well enough know that I value my sleeping time. My dear hubby gets up at 4:30 every morning for work. So to show my appreciation and love I occasionally make him a yummy breakfast instead of his usual boring pop tarts or granola bar. This morning I made pancakes and sausage! Yummy! Although Mylan gets up much later than 4:30am he also enjoyed his delicious heart shaped pancake and some sausage.

We're back in business!!

Yea for Reddi Rooter! Our plumbing is back in business! It's so nice to be able to take a shower, run the washing machine and flush the toilet. The only thing we were able to use was the bathroom sinks. Turned out that we had tree roots in our sewage line. Yikes! Things didn't turn out as bad as I worried though...only $159. Yea for Reddi Rooter! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to take a shower!

It's a dirty job...

We are having some plumbing problems in the main drain down in the basement. It's gross! My poor husband is trying to do everything he can before we are forced to call a plumber. Plumber prices can be brutal and we'd rather avoid that. My husband has the wet shop vac when needed, has tried out several different drain clogging chemicals and has bought a snake to try and remove anything that may be clogging the pipes. He even knocked over the shop vac full of nasty wet stuff. It's was kind of funny and gross at the same time!

Climbing with Aunt Shonda

Today Mylan and I went climbing with my sister, Shonda a.k.a Aunt Shonda. We started out in the Boulder Room. This room is a place you can practice climbing with out using any ropes. The floors are squishy and there is big fluffy mats that you can fall onto. Shonda is trained and certified in climbing so she taught us different way to climb.

The walls go at all different angles. It's not as easy as Shonda makes it look.

Shonda flies up those walls.

This is one of Mylan's favorite holds in the boulder room because it looks like a skull.

Look at him go!

When he would get stuck Aunt Shonda would show him a different way to do it.

Here is Mylan watching Aunt Shonda as she climbs a wall.

Silly Aunt Shonda!

Aunt Shonda gets Mylan ready to climb.

Up he goes! Mylan didn't climb very high this time. I don't think he liked this wall as well as "The Dungeon". The holds on this wall are much smaller because the wall is slanted which causes you to use your feet and body more against the wall rather than counting on using the holds as much. We both found it more difficult but we still had fun.

Check out my climbing blog back in June to see our first climbing adventure with Aunt Shonda and Uncle Mike.

Family Vacation to St. Louis, MO

This year we took a family vacation to St. Louis August 3rd -8th. We had a blast! We had a game plan before we left as far as what we were going to do each day. Let me tell you, we were busy. We were always on the move. From what I could see people in St. Louis drive like maniacs, they have to pay for parking everywhere (the cost is anywhere from $10 to $25!) so they walk everywhere they can, and they all seem to be immune to the humidity! I took so many pictures while in St. Louis that I can't possibly fit them all in one blog entry so I plan to post them in several blog entries. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Brewery Tour

We went on an Anheuser-Busch brewery tour. The company was founded in 1852. St. Louis, MO is the world headquarters or Budweiser.

Who knew so many steps went into making beer.

The St. Louis Science Center

This was a laser harp.

These were musical hands.

This marble thingy was really cool! It was on the ceiling and gigantic!

Cardinals Hall of Fame

The Cardinals Hall of Fame was a bonding experience for my boys. Larry taught Mylan some of baseball history.

This bench was cool because it's made of baseballs and baseball bats.
